What is PDF Chat?+
PDF Chat lets you upload a text-based PDF and ask questions about its extracted content. Docula retrieves relevant sections and asks AI to answer only from that document context.
Can I ask questions about my PDF?+
Yes, when the answer is supported by extractable text in the uploaded PDF. If the retrieved document sections do not support an answer, Docula says that it could not find the answer in the PDF.
Does PDF Chat work with scanned PDFs?+
Not in this MVP. PDF Chat works best with text-based PDFs. For scanned pages or image-only documents, extract text with Image to Text OCR first.
Are PDF Chat answers always accurate?+
No. AI answers and PDF extraction can contain errors or miss context. Verify important details against the original document before relying on them.
Can I save PDF Chat answers?+
Yes. Signed-in users can save individual PDF Chat answers and their relevant excerpts to the private Docula dashboard.
Does Docula store uploaded PDF files?+
Raw PDF files are processed temporarily for extraction and are not saved to your dashboard. Only an answer you explicitly choose to save is stored as generated text.
Can I use PDF Chat for study guides?+
Yes. You can ask about definitions, processes, comparisons, examples, or sections in a text-based study guide, then verify the answer against the source.
Can I use PDF Chat for certification material?+
Yes. PDF Chat can help you question your own certification notes and permitted study documents. Docula is not affiliated with certification providers and does not guarantee exam results.
