Privacy Commitment

Docula's privacy model is based on clear user choice: process what is needed, save only when users choose to save, and explain limitations plainly.

Plain-language commitment

Docula is built to help users work with source material without unnecessary confusion about data handling. The product should explain when content is processed, when outputs are saved, and what users should avoid uploading.

Browser-side processing

Some PDF utility and export workflows may run in the browser where possible. Browser-side workflows can reduce unnecessary server processing, but users should still avoid sensitive or confidential material unless they are comfortable using it in an online tool.

Server-side processing

AI generation, PDF Chat, OCR, and selected document analysis workflows may process submitted text or extracted content on the server to provide the requested output.

Saved outputs

Signed-in users can explicitly save supported generated outputs. Saved outputs, Study Sessions, and Study Coach plans are stored so users can return to them. They are not created unless the user uses a save workflow where supported.

Uploaded files

Uploaded files are processed temporarily to perform the requested action and are not intentionally stored after processing unless a future feature clearly says otherwise. Users should not upload sensitive personal, medical, legal, financial, confidential, or restricted documents.

User control

Users can choose what to submit, what to save, and what to delete where deletion controls are available. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@docula.net.
