File Deletion Policy

This policy explains how Docula currently handles uploaded files, pasted content, generated outputs, and account-related privacy concerns.

Accounts

Docula supports user accounts through Clerk, including email and password sign-in and Google sign-in. Signed-in users may save generated text outputs to their private dashboard and organize those outputs into study sessions. Docula does not provide a stored library of raw uploaded files.

How submitted content is processed

Uploaded PDFs and images, pasted notes, source details, and transcripts may be processed to perform the action you request, including text extraction, OCR, citation formatting, and AI generation. Processing may involve infrastructure, authentication, analytics, AI, or other service providers used to operate Docula.

Saved outputs

Saved outputs, including PDF Chat answers that you explicitly choose to save, remain associated with your account until you delete them or Docula is required to remove them. You can open a saved output from the dashboard and use the Delete action. Deletion removes that saved output from the active Docula database.

AI Study Coach plans

AI Study Coach plans are stored only when you choose Save Study Coach Plan or Add to Study Session. Saved coach plans can be opened from the Study Coach dashboard and deleted using the Actions menu. Deleting a coach plan removes that plan from the active Docula database.

Study sessions

Study sessions organize references to saved outputs under a title, subject, goal, or target date you provide. Archiving a session hides it from active study but does not delete it. Deleting a study session removes the session and its output links; the underlying saved outputs remain in your dashboard unless you delete those outputs separately.

Current storage limitations

Creating an account does not automatically save tool inputs, PDF Chat history, outputs, or AI Study Coach plans. Only content that you explicitly save is added to your account. Raw uploaded PDFs and images are not intentionally stored as saved account files. Keep an additional copy of important work using the available copy or download controls.

Service-provider handling

Service providers may process or retain limited information according to their own operational, security, and legal requirements. Because those practices may differ by provider, Docula does not promise a specific deletion timeline that it cannot independently guarantee.

Sensitive documents

Do not upload sensitive personal, medical, legal, financial, confidential, private, or restricted documents. Use only material that you are permitted to process.

Privacy and deletion requests

For questions about submitted content, account information, or a privacy request, contact privacy@docula.net. Include enough information to understand the request, but do not attach sensitive documents or confidential material.
